Terms of Service
These are the terms for using Mosaic, the app and the printed magazines we make from your photographs. By creating an account or placing an order you agree to them. They are written to be read; if anything is unclear, email hello@mosaicapp.nyc.
What Mosaic is
Each month we publish a magazine design. You add photographs and captions from your month, the app lays them into that month's design and writes the longer text from your captions, and we print and post the result. You review everything before you order.
Your account
You need to be at least 13 and to give a real email address. You are responsible for what is uploaded from your account. Only add photographs you have the right to use.
Buying a single issue
A single issue costs the price shown at checkout, currently $50 including shipping within the United States. Payment is taken when you order.
Subscriptions
- Price: $35 a month, billed monthly, including shipping within the United States. Each month's charge covers that month's issue.
- Minimum term: three months. When you subscribe you commit to three monthly payments.
- After three months the subscription continues month to month. You can cancel at any time in the app, and it ends at the close of the month you have already paid for. There is no fee.
- Cancelling within the first three months is allowed, but carries an early-cancellation fee of $25, charged to your card on file at the time you cancel. The subscription then ends at the close of the paid month. The fee is shown again before you confirm.
- Missed cutoff: if you don't finish an issue before the 25th of a month, we charge $10 and hold it as credit toward your next issue. Credit is forfeited if you cancel.
- Renewal: your subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel. We will email you before any change in price.
The monthly cutoff
Every issue closes on the 25th of its month so the whole month can print together. After the cutoff an ordered issue is fixed and goes to the printer; it cannot be changed.
Printing and delivery
Issues are printed and shipped by our print partner after the cutoff, usually within one to two weeks. Shipping is included for addresses in the United States. You are responsible for giving us a correct address; we can't recover a magazine sent to a wrong one.
Refunds and reprints
Because every magazine is made for one person, we don't offer refunds for change of mind once an issue has gone to print. If your magazine arrives damaged or misprinted, email us within 30 days with a photo and we will reprint it at no cost. If a subscription charge is taken for a month in which you didn't receive an issue, we will refund it.
Text written for you
The app drafts descriptions in your magazine from your captions and photographs. Those drafts are suggestions: you can change or remove any of them before ordering, and what prints is what you approved.
Your content
Your photographs and words remain yours. You give us permission to store, lay out, print and ship them, and to send them to the providers that do those jobs for us, only for the purpose of making your magazine. We don't use them for anything else.
Ending your account
You can delete your account in the app at any time. Deleting your account does not cancel an active subscription's remaining minimum term; cancel the subscription first. We may close accounts that break these terms.
Liability
Mosaic is provided as described. To the extent the law allows, our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the issue concerned.
Changes and contact
